Sensational victory of "Qarabağ" over "Benfica"

On the evening of September 16, the Azerbaijani club "Qarabağ" secured a victory in Lisbon over the local "Benfica" in a match of the first round of the main stage of the Champions League.

By the 16th minute, the home team was losing with a score of 0:2. However, the team from Aghdam managed to turn the tide of the game—first reducing the deficit, then equalizing, and finally snatching victory from their famous opponent.

This is "Qarabağ's" first-ever victory in the main stage of the Champions League.

Since 2008, "Qarabağ" has been coached by local specialist Gurban Gurbanov. Over the past 12 seasons, the team has consistently advanced to the main stage of European competitions—the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.
