Iraqi citizen attempted to illegally cross the Armenian-Azerbaijani border

An Iraqi citizen was detained while attempting to illegally cross the state border from Armenia to Azerbaijan.

According to the State Border Service (SBS) of Azerbaijan, the incident occurred on September 1 in the area of the "Gubadly" border division. Border guards spotted a state border violator from the direction of Armenia.

"As a result of operational measures carried out in a difficult mountainous and forested area with impassable terrain, an Iraqi citizen, Ali Emad Attallah Badrawi, born in 2002, was detained. Operational and investigative measures are ongoing regarding this incident," the SBS message says.
