Ex-MP Nazim Baydemirli has been transferred to a correctional facility.

Nazim Baydemirli's location for serving his sentence has been altered. His spouse, Farida Baydemirli, informed Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty that he was moved to Penitentiary Institution No. 6 on May 19.
Nazim Baydemirli's family and attorney requested that the prison officials relocate him from his current detention site. This occurred due to an issue he had with a fellow inmate at Penitentiary Institution No. 13 where he was previously. He was placed in a cell as a consequence. His spouse mentioned that the other inmate had attempted to create difficulties for Nazim Baydemirli multiple times previously.
Farida Baydemirli visited Penitentiary Institution No. 6 on May 20. She was prohibited from seeing her husband. She was informed that because Nazim Baydemirli had recently arrived, he needed to remain in one area for 14 days. During this period, he was permitted to see only his lawyer.
Farida Baydemirli mentioned that her husband had not consumed food for five days prior to his relocation. He was objecting to the events occurring at the prison. Nazim Baydemirli was already facing health issues. This caused him to feel even worse. His spouse was extremely concerned about him. She requested that he visit a doctor. They informed her that he was okay.
The authorities overseeing the prison remained silent on this matter.
On May 16, it was reported that Nazim Baydemirli was denied access to food or medicine.
His wife claimed that he hasn't received food or medicine since May 15. She additionally mentioned that he was forced to remain in the sun for a day and afterwards placed in a punishment cell. Farida Baydemirli is extremely concerned about her husband's life. She requested assistance. No one replied.
On March 30, the family of Nazim Baydemir requested his release from prison and placement under house arrest.

His spouse mentioned that he was brought to the center on the night of March 26. She was unaware of how he was faring.
Prior to that, Nazim Baydemir's health deteriorated while in prison.
His wife mentioned that his health rapidly declined. She requested an ambulance to transport him to the hospital. The officials overseeing the prison did not reply.
Nazim Baydemirli has been incarcerated since July 2023. He was convicted of attempting to acquire property through intimidation. He stated that the accusations were false. He received an 8-year prison sentence.
Nazim Baydemirli was a member of the Milli Majlis from 2005 until 2010. He stated that he was incarcerated due to the demonstrations in his village. The villagers were upset because a gold factory was contaminating the lake. Nazim Baydemirli along with a few others were present. Sentenced to incarceration. The gold production facility was shut down. Subsequently, the government indicated that it could be reestablished if certain modifications occurred.
