In Kalbajar: three small hydroelectric power plants commissioned

On August 21, President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Ashagi Veng, Nadirkhanli and Chaykend small hydroelectric power plants of Azerenergy OJSC in the Veng village of Kalbajar district.

The Ashagi Veng and Nadirkhanli stations are expected to generate 48 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. The volume of saved natural gas will be 12.5 million cubic meters, which will prevent 23 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere per year. The stations have provided jobs for 8 residents of Kalbajar district.

The capacity of the Chaykend small hydroelectric power plant is 5 MW. The plant is expected to generate 15 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which will save 3.2 million cubic meters of natural gas and prevent 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere. Four residents of Kelbajar are employed here.
