Georgia's International Currency Reserves Reach $5 Billion

International reserves as of July 31, 2025, according to preliminary data, amounted to $5 billion, according to the website of the National Bank of Georgia.


In January-July, reserves increased by $571.2 million. In July, reserves increased by $331.3 million. According to analysts, the change in the volume of reserves is due to the operations of the government and the National Bank of Georgia in the foreign exchange market.


The historical maximum of the international reserves of the National Bank of Georgia was reached on August 31, 2023 - $5,436.8 million.


In 2024, international reserves decreased by GEL 562.1 million, in 2023 - increased by GEL 101.5 million, and in 2022 - by $628.1 million.
