EU Commissioner Marta Kos to Visit Azerbaijan

European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Marta Kos will pay a visit to Azerbaijan on September 18.

According to a statement from the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, "the visit will take place at a pivotal moment in the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process and will provide an opportunity to present the 'EU's Interregional Engagement Agenda as a concrete contribution to regional development'."

In addition, the press release further notes that "Commissioner Kos will discuss with the Azerbaijani authorities 'common strategic interests, including energy, transport, and demining'." Kos will hold high-level meetings with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, and Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov.

The Commissioner will also visit Aghdam, where she will meet with representatives involved in demining.
