Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry lodges a formal protest against Russia's Channel One for airing a distorted map using the outdated term "Nagorno-Karabakh." Baku demands accountability and an explanation for this irresponsible diplomatic oversight.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that Russia's state-owned Channel One television station did something very wrong. They showed a map of Azerbaijan that was not correct. This map used the name "Nagorno-Karabakh" which is not used anymore.

The problem started on May 6 when the talk show Vremya Pokazhet or Time Will Tell showed this map. The people in charge in Baku are upset because they think this map is trying to say that some parts of Azerbaijan do not belong to Azerbaijan. This is not true.

Aykhan Hajizada, who speaks for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said that Azerbaijan is in charge of its country and that everyone knows this. He said that Russia also knows this. He does not think it is right for Russian television to show incorrect maps of Azerbaijan. This is not how friends should treat each other.

Aykhan Hajizada said that the Russian television station was being very irresponsible. He wants Russia to explain why they did this and to make sure it does not happen again.

This is a time for problems between Azerbaijan and Russia. There was a war in 2020 and then Azerbaijan took back control of the Karabakh region and some other areas. The president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said that the problem with Karabakh is now solved.

Even though things seem to be getting better and Azerbaijan and Armenia are trying to make peace, some people are still causing problems. Some people think that some groups in Russia are trying to cause trouble before elections in Armenia. Russia says this is not true.

Russia has not said anything about what Azerbaijan is saying.
