The Shadow of Repression in Iran is getting worse. The United Nations says that a lot of people have been executed and arrested in Iran. This is happening while there is a conflict in the region. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is very worried about what's going on in Iran.

Least 21 people have been executed and more than 4,000 people have been detained in Iran since the conflict started earlier this year. The government of Iran is using the conflict as an excuse to crack down on its people. The United Nations has gotten reports that the courts in Iran are moving quickly to convict people especially since the fighting started in late February.

The United States and Israel bombed some sites and then Iran bombed back. Even though there is a ceasefire now the Iranian government is still arresting and executing people who disagree with it. The UN High Commissioner, Volker Türk is very upset about what's happening in Iran. He says that the government is taking away the rights of the Iranian people.

Volker Türk says that in a time of war people should still have the right to a fair trial and to be safe from being arrested for no reason. The people who were recently executed in Iran were mostly people who had protested against the government or people who were accused of spying or being part of opposition groups.

This is not the time that Iran has used executions to punish its enemies. In fact Iran is one of the countries that uses capital punishment the most. Year at least 1,639 people were executed in Iran, which is the highest number since 1989. The United Nations and other groups are calling for the international community to do something to stop the government from abusing human rights.

The conflict in the region is still not over. The situation in Iran is still very bad. The Iranian people are suffering from both the war and the repression of their government. The United Nations and other groups are asking for oversight to prevent the situation from getting even worse. The Shadow of Repression in Iran is a problem that needs to be solved. Iran and the Iranian people need help to stop the executions and the arrests. The Iranian government needs to respect the rights of its people.
