Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has awarded his daughter Ozoda Rahmon, who heads his administration, the title of "Meritorious Worker," according to "Radio Azattyk." The ceremony for presenting state awards and honorary titles was held on August 25 in Dushanbe. It was timed to coincide with Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 9.

The president's website reports that about 200 people were awarded, including 23 who received the title of "Meritorious Worker of Tajikistan." The awards, the report says, are given to those who have achieved "worthy results" in their work.

Ozoda Rahmon has been the head of the presidential administration since 2016.

10 years ago, she received the Order of "Sharaf" (Glory) of the First Degree from her father. At the time, Ozoda Rahmon was serving as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

46-year-old Ozoda is the oldest of Emomali Rahmon's nine children. He has seven daughters and two sons. Some of them hold important government positions.

Rustam Emomali is the mayor of Dushanbe and also the chairman of the upper house of parliament. He is called a potential successor to his father for the presidential post.

This month, Rahmon's youngest daughter Farzona Emomali was appointed head of the department of reforms, primary health care, and international relations at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population.

Her sister Rukhshona Emomali is the ambassador to the United Kingdom.

In 2023, the Tajik editorial office of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (Ozodi) reported that another one of Rahmon's daughters, Parvina, controls a company that, with the support of administrative resources, became the leader of the country's pharmaceutical market in six years.

Zarina Rahmon has served as the deputy chair of the board of the commercial "Orienbank" since last year.

Takhmina Rahmonova was the founder of the company "Air Communications Agency," which, according to journalists, controlled the air ticket sales market in Tajikistan.
