On May 8, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) released the initial set of confidential documents referred to as the "UFO files" at the direction of President Donald Trump. One of the documents that were released also refers to Azerbaijan. A report from 1955 details how a US Army officer named Hathaway observed a lengthy line of freight cars near Baku. Based on his account, every vehicle featured a landing craft capable of transporting a platoon of troops and was watched over by individuals in distinctive uniforms. A jet aircraft was spotted over Baku, but identifying which plane it was proved impossible due to its high altitude. The report indicates that the officer's team arrived at a civilian airport and noticed another airport while heading to the city. The representative at the "Intourist" hotel informed them that this was an airport designed for military drills.
